Piano Inspections and Assessments

To understand a piano’s current condition, it should be carefully inspected throughout by a qualified piano technician.  Looks are often deceiving.  After playing through the entire keyboard, to see action function and tone, the case parts and action should be removed and all parts inspected.  Bridges need to be checked for cracks, and if down bearing is present.  This is needed for proper sustaining ability in the piano.  The soundboard is checked for cracks, and ribs checked for good adhesion to the soundboard.  All action parts are checked for function and wear.

If you are looking at a piano to buy, I’d be happy to inspect it for you to make sure it’s a worthwhile purchase.
